Nick Jonas is all praise for wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas and the team behind SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated action-adventure drama Varanasi.

After the filmmaker revealed the film’s title and showcased its striking first-look elements during a grand fan event in Hyderabad, Nick shared his excitement on social media.

On Instagram Stories, Nick reposted Mahesh Babu’s fierce first-look poster, and wrote, “Congrats to the whole team. This film is sure to be incredible.” He tagged Priyanka, Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu, MM Keeravaani, and other key members of the team.

The Hollywood actor-singer didn’t stop there. He also reshared two photos of Priyanka from the event, where she looked breathtaking in an all-white lehenga with intricate crystal, gold sequin detailing and antique metallic embroidery. Completing her look were a dramatic choker, maang tikka, layered bangles and a long braid.

Nick captioned one photo, “Just wow. Breathtaking." Another read, “My Desi Girl.”

Priyanka’s own caption, “Channeling my inner devi (goddess)” drew a swoon-worthy reaction from Nick, who commented, “I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say… Oh my god.”

Meanwhile, the Varanasi title reveal event itself had a dramatic moment. Rajamouli admitted he grew tense when the teaser failed to play correctly during the first two attempts. But when it finally played on the third try, the filmmaker appeared visibly emotional.

Sharing an anecdote about the moment, Rajamouli said, “Finally, it happened. Some are emotional moments. I don’t have huge belief in God. My dad said ‘He would be right behind me and make all things work.’ I was angry thinking, ‘Is this how you make it work?’ My wife loves Lord Hanuman. She treats him as a friend. I got angry with my wife as well.”

Varanasi marks SS Rajamouli’s first collaboration with Mahesh Babu, who plays the character Rudhra, and Priyanka Chopra’s return to Indian cinema after The Sky Is Pink (2021).
