After crafting the powerful worlds of KGF: Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, writer-turned-director Chandramouli is back — and this time, he’s exploring a different kind of intensity.

His upcoming Kannada film Wild Tiger Safari introduces dancer and choreographer Sushant Pujari in a bold new light, making his acting debut as the complex antagonist Amar Shetty.

When the film’s first character poster dropped, audiences immediately took notice. Sushant’s sharp features, fierce gaze and brooding energy hinted at a character far deeper than the typical on-screen villain. For Chandramouli, the choice to cast him wasn’t accidental — it was instinctive.

“Being a dancer, he naturally possesses strong control over his facial expressions — something that adds great depth to a performance. His ability to communicate emotions through subtle expressions and movement gives the character a unique edge. Beyond that, Sushant’s overall look, his hairstyle, attitude, and especially his eyes perfectly align with the psychological layers of the character. His eyes carry a certain wildness and depth that made him the most fitting choice to play the antagonist in my story,” the director explained.

For Chandramouli, performance has always been about emotion rather than theatrics. “Sushant’s journey from stage to screen mirrors the transformation of Amar Shetty himself — a character who dances on the fine line between madness and charm,” he said, reflecting on the casting process.

Known for his work alongside some of Bollywood’s biggest names, Sushant sees this role as a dream that’s been waiting to happen.

“Amar Shetty isn’t just a villain. He’s layered, unpredictable, and human. I’ve always wanted to be an actor, not just a hero. Chandramouli sir even expanded my role during the shoot after seeing my performance — that was the biggest compliment,” shared Sushant.

Wild Tiger Safari also stars debutant Shithil Poojari, Nimika Ratnakar, and dancer Dharmesh, bringing together a cast full of raw energy and passion.

Produced by VK Films, the project promises a thrilling mix of action, emotion, and psychological depth — and might just offer Kannada cinema a new kind of villain to remember.
