Union Minister Suresh Gopi has made a shocking and honest statement that he wants to leave politics and return to his career in movies. Gopi said at an event in Kannur, Kerala, that he made the decision because of the huge losses in revenue he had since becoming a minister.
"I really want to keep acting." "I need to make more money; my income has stopped completely," Gopi told the group, making it clear what his problem was.
Recommends Sadanandan Master as Successor
Gopi didn't just complain; he suggested a new person to take his place. He said that Rajya Sabha MP C. Sadanandan Master should be considered for his ministerial position, saying that the change could be a "new chapter in Kerala politics."
He also told people that he had made it clear before the fight that he wanted to keep acting. "I told reporters the night before the elections that I didn't want to be a minister. I wanted to keep making movies," he said.

A Growing Gap Between Film and Politics
Suresh Gopi's comments show that there has been a conflict for a while: how to balance his love of movies with his political duties. People in the Malayalam film industry say he is getting more and more worried about not being able to work on movie projects.
He said that acting had always been a steady source of income, which was important not just for him but also for the people who depend on him. "My kids aren't settled yet. A few people have put their trust in my income. This income should not stop if a part of them needs to be taken care of. He said, "Right now, it (income) has stopped a lot."Political and movie career path
Gopi, a long-time actor in Malayalam cinema, joined the BJP in 2016 and was nominated to the Rajya Sabha the same year, partly because of his work in the arts.
He made history in 2024 by becoming the first BJP Lok Sabha MP from Kerala, winning the Thrissur constituency by a large margin.
Even though he is moving in a different political direction, the actor's heart still seems to be in movies. Before, he had to stop working on movies when he became a minister, which caused problems between his two jobs.
What's Next
People are now able to guess what Gopi meant by his words: Will he officially step down soon? Will the BJP really consider Sadanandan Master's candidacy? And maybe most importantly, will the movie world welcome him back?
The BJP and Gopi seem to be at a crossroads right now. It is still unclear if he will leave or find a compromise, but his honesty about his financial and emotional problems has made sure that the debate will not go away anytime soon.
