Zubeen Garg starrer Roi Roi Binale recently hit the theatres with a special emotional screening at the Calvin Gold Cinema in Fancy Bazar.

Zubeen Garg's wife, Garima Garg, also attended the screening of his farewell movie. However, the makers paid a special tribute to the late singer. In remembrance of Zubeen Garg, a seat was set aside, signifying his enduring presence among fans and loved ones.

Following the screening, Garima Garg reflected on the emotional farewell movie. While talking to the media outside the theatre, she said, “This was his dream project.”

She added, “Everything has gone just as Zubeen intended.”

She remembered that before completing the dubbing, he had to depart for Singapore to attend the Northeast India Festival.

She shared, “But, owing to the persistent efforts of Amrit Pritam and Debajit Changmai, a miracle occurred; Zubeen’s voice can now be heard in every dialogue, in every frame. His presence continues to fill the screen.”

Garima conveyed her sincere appreciation to everyone who had contributed to realising her husband's dream.

“The entire team has kept his spirit alive. Everyone in Assam believes Zubeen is still with us.”

The screening served as a moment of collective memory in addition to being a movie event. To honour the late singer, musician, and filmmaker who used his talent to shape Assamese culture, IPS Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Jayanta Borah, and Jatin Borah joined the crowd.

For the unversed, Roi Roi Binale is an Indian Assamese-language musical romantic drama film directed by Rajesh Bhuyan and written by Zubeen Garg. The film was produced under the banner of Zeal Creations and i-Creation. The film features Zubeen Garg in his final acting role alongside Mousumi Alifa, Joy Kashyap, Achurjya Borpatra, among others.

Roi Roi Binale is creating a buzz at the box office. The film earned Rs 3.85 crore net in India in two days. The film has now become the 8th highest-grossing Assamese film of all time in just 48 hours since its release.
