Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati have made it official: their long-awaited movie Kaantha will come out on a new date. The period horror drama that was intended to be out earlier will now be in theaters around the world on November 14, 2025.
A Fiery Surprise for Diwali
The makers put out a new motion poster on the festival of lights that wonderfully portrays the film's intriguing tone. Dulquer and Rana both put the news on social media, and the caption along with the poster read, "Diwali just got a whole lot more explosive! #Kaantha will be lighting up theatres worldwide from NOVEMBER 14th! Wishing you all a happy Diwali and we’ll see you in the theatres very soon. A @thespiritmedia and @dqswayfarerfilms production."
Fans are already remarking about how exciting the poster's pictures are, and they can't wait to watch what looks like a movie with a lot of visuals and atmosphere.
Why the Delay
The movie was meant to come out sooner, but the makers decided to put it off so that Dulquer Salmaan's recent smash Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra could keep making money at the box office.

Selvamani Selvaraj directed Kaantha, a horror movie that takes place in Madras in the 1950s. The movie stars Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, and Bhagyashri Borse in significant roles. The story digs deep into the odd and creepy life of a prominent director whose art hides terrible secrets that come to light in scary ways.
The movie will be in theaters on November 14, and viewers can look forward to an exciting blend of mystery, history, and the supernatural.
