Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji’s iconic romantic comedy Hum Tum is all set to charm audiences once again as it gears up for a grand re-release in theatres on May 16, 2025. First released on May 28, 2004, the film was a commercial hit that beautifully blended romance, humour, and emotional depth, earning it a permanent spot in the hearts of Bollywood fans.

As the trend of re-releasing beloved classics continues to gain momentum, Hum Tumjoins the list of early 2000s blockbusters making their way back to the big screen. With films from the ’90s and 2000s enjoying renewed popularity, the makers of Hum Tum have strategically chosen mid-May for this comeback, hoping to revive the same magic it once created.

The film stars Saif Ali Khan as Karan, a quirky cartoonist, and Rani Mukerji as Rhea, an independent and strong-willed woman. The narrative follows their journey of love and conflict over the years as their paths cross in different stages of life. The film also features an impressive ensemble cast including Kirron Kher, Rishi Kapoor, Parinita Seth, and others.

The movie not only won hearts but also accolades. Saif Ali Khan won the National Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Award for Best Comic Role for his performance. In his acceptance speech, Saif dedicated the award to his daughter Sara Ali Khan, quoting her philosophical words. Rani Mukerji, too, bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role.
