During a recent meet-and-greet session in Mumbai on March 13, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt interacted with the media, discussing various topics. Among them, Ranbir provided the latest update on Brahmastra 2, in which he stars alongside Alia.

He is currently working on War 2. Once this releases, he is start pre-production of Brahmastra 2. It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it but then some really interesting announcements (will be made soon) regarding Brahmastra 2."

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva hit theaters on September 9, 2022, marking the first on-screen collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, with Shah Rukh Khan making a special cameo. The fantasy epic was widely appreciated and went on to collect nearly Rs 400 crore at the box office.

In April 2023, Ayan Mukerji shared an official update on the highly anticipated sequels, revealing the release timeline for Brahmāstra Part Two: Dev and Brahmāstra Part Three. According to his announcement, the second installment is slated for a December 2026 release, followed by the third and final part in 2027.

Further while interacting during the meet and greet on Thursday, the Animal actor also spoke extensively about his experience of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the upcoming film Love and War. “Love and War is something which is every actor’s dream, like to work with brilliant actors like Alia and Vicky, and to be directed under the master Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I worked with him 17 years ago. "I haven’t met a human being who worked so hard, who understands characters, emotions, music, Indian culture, and the Indian value system as much as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. To be on his set is tiring, it is long, and the process can be a little daunting, but as an artist, it is satisfying because he nurtures art, and as actors, it’s truly amazing so far,” Ranbir stated.

Ranbir Kapoor, who made his acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007, is set to reunite with the acclaimed director after 17 years for Love and War. The much-anticipated film also stars his wife, Alia Bhatt, and his Sanju co-star, Vicky Kaushal.

Alia, who previously worked with Bhansali on the 2022 blockbuster Gangubai Kathiawadi, expressed her excitement about teaming up with the filmmaker again, calling it a blessing to collaborate with him once more. “Being back on set with Sanjay sir (is) like he makes you feel that 100 per cent is just the beginning, you’ve to give way way more than that, and you want to because of how much he gives. Every scene is a key scene.”

Love and War is set to hit the theatres in 2026.
