Ranbir Kapoor’s niece, Samara Sahni, has finally spoken out after a video featuring her and her nani, Neetu Kapoor, went viral.

The clip, which showed Samara looking visibly displeased during a paparazzi session, quickly sparked claims that she had pushed Neetu away. Now, the teenager has clarified the story herself, and she isn’t holding back.

In Farah Khan’s latest vlog, Samara appeared alongside her mom, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. When Farah brought up the viral clip, Riddhima jumped in first, explaining that her daughter likes to pose with what she calls a “blue steel look.”

"Samara ka kya hai na, ki, 'Mein agar camera mein dekhungi, toh I am just going to give like a blue steel look.' So, I told her that it looks like you are angry."

But Samara, clearly tired of the chatter, cut straight to the point. “Let a girl have a resting face. It’s not a problem. It’s just a resting face,” she said firmly.

Riddhima defends her daughter

This isn’t the first time Riddhima has addressed the controversy. Earlier, in a chat with Hindustan Times, she stressed that the entire episode had been “blown out of proportion.” According to her, Samara was actually excited to face the cameras that day.

"The whole thing got blown out of proportion. The poor child was only trying to pose. She wasn’t upset. She was very excited, so much so that in the car she kept saying that, ‘Oh my God, I’m sure there are gonna be photographers and I’m gonna pose like this and that’. And because the paparazzi were asking us to come together, she just wanted to pose on her own. She didn’t push her nani. She was like ‘when did I push her? I was trying to pose myself. I was just trying to extend my arm and get comfortable. I was posing. I never pushed anyone."

Riddhima also pointed out that kids today are more aware of the scrutiny around them, thanks to constant social media exposure. Both she and Neetu regularly talk to Samara to make sure the noise doesn’t get to her.

Normalising the ‘resting face’

Samara, meanwhile, wants people to stop reading too much into her expressions. In her words, “Yeah, smiling is good. I mean… normalise having a resting face.” Her comment has since resonated with many young fans online who feel the same pressure to always appear cheerful in front of cameras.
