On Thursday, July 3, the makers of Ramayana: Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, unveiled the much-awaited first glimpse featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana. The reveal ignited massive fan excitement, marking the beginning of a grand cinematic retelling of the epic.

The grand reveal has sent fans into a frenzy, offering the first taste of what promises to be one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious mythological adaptations.

The makers of Ramayana: Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, have finally unveiled the much-anticipated first glimpse of the epic film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana on Thursday, July 3.

The grand reveal has sent fans into a frenzy, offering the first taste of what promises to be one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious mythological adaptations.

With fan screenings in nine major Indian cities and a stunning billboard takeover in Times Square, New York, the premiere of Ramayana: The Introduction marked a truly global occasion.

A visually spectacular retelling of India's sacred epic, the rollout was nothing short of a global spectacle, setting the stage for the fabled confrontation between Rama and Ravana.

Fans reacted to the glimpse with a great deal of love and excitement. Social media was ablaze with admiration; some were enthralled by the title card's grandeur, while others were profoundly moved by the first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor's calm yet commanding portrayal of Lord Ram and Yash's ferocious transition into mighty Ravana.

The launch has caused  a wave of excitement, firmly placing Ramayana on the global map as a cinematic event to watch out for. Here is some of the reactions of netizens on X soon after the first glimpse was revealed.

Ramayana boasts a stellar ensemble led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, a fourth-generation icon of Indian cinema. Yash, who commands a massive pan-India fanbase and also serves as co-producer, takes on the powerful role of Ravana.

The epic is set to release globally with Part 1 hitting theatres during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
