R Madhavan recently shared his perspective on Aamir Khan's unique habit of traveling without a wallet, a quirk that reflects the superstar's carefree approach to life. Speaking to Just Too Filmy, Madhavan admitted that while he admires Aamir's stardom, he wouldn't adopt the same lifestyle.
“I am never that extreme," Madhavan remarked. "Aamir’s stardom allows him to be like that. Whatever he requires, he has people to pay for it. Of course, he would pay them… and it isn’t like he doesn’t pay for it. I think my personality doesn’t allow me to walk around with an entourage. I prefer walking alone. I want that freedom, and the ability to interact with people."
The actor emphasized his preference for financial discipline, revealing that he always lives within his means. “If I want a bigger car but it doesn’t fit my budget, I won’t buy it," he said, adding that while he isn't overly frugal, he avoids unnecessary indulgences.
Madhavan also mentioned his wife Sarita's view of his spending habits. “She thinks I’m generous to a fault,” he said with a laugh. “I think I’m very particular about it, but she says not even from a remote corner are you particular about it. I spend what I have."
Madhavan is currently seen in Hisaab Barabar, a satirical thriller streaming on Zee5. Directed by Ashwani Dhir, the film features an ensemble cast including Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Rashami Desai, and Faisal Rashid. Madhavan plays an honest ticket checker who uncovers a massive financial scam led by a corrupt banker, played by Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Up next, Madhavan will feature in Karan Johar's untitled biopic of C Sankaran Nair. The film, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, also stars Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday and is adapted from the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu and Pushpa Palat. Produced by Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, the movie explores the life of the legendary lawyer who took on the British Empire.
