Prithviraj Sukumaran confirms to star alongside Mahesh Babu in SS Rajamouli's SSMB29

Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mahesh Babu have wrapped up SSMB29 Odisha shoot

Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are gearing up for their upcoming SS Rajamouli directorial film, SSMB29. The highly anticipated film is currently under production and has recently created a buzz among the fans with the latest update.

There have been reports that Prithviraj Sukumaran is also part of the film. Neither the actor nor the makers have previously confirmed his involvement in the film. However, Prithviraj has finally addressed the reports.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Prithviraj Sukumaran was asked about his experience of SS Rajamouli's set visit. The actor initially joked that his recent meeting with Mahesh Babu in Odisha was just a coincidence, like two friends on a sightseeing trip.

However, the actor later confirmed, “So I mean, now since the video or some photograph and all have been leaked, I can’t really say that I went there for sightseeing. So hopefully very soon we will be able to talk about the film. It’s been more than a year that I have been part of the project; we’ve slowly been working towards it.”

SSMB29 cast has recently wrapped up the shooting a few days ago in the Koraput district of Odisha. Several photos and videos of Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran from the SSMB29 set were leaked online and went viral on social media.

Produced by veteran filmmaker KL Narayana with a staggering budget of Rs 1,000 crores, the upcoming action-adventure SSMB29 is penned by Rajamouli’s father, writer Vijayendra Prasad.

Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani is composing the music. The Mahesh Babu starrer will be released in two parts with the first part expected to hit the theatres in 2027, followed by the second part in 2029.
