Prabhas to begin filming for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit soon, film to release in 2027

While Prabhas is busy shooting for Fauzi and is gearing up for the promotions of Raja Saab where he plays the lead, directed by Maruthi, it looks like Spirit shall be his next big project.

Pan-India star Prabhas is a busy man these days with a clutch of big projects in his kitty, but folks curious about the status of Spirit—the eagerly awaited movie with sandalwood filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga – can now rejoice. While there were rumours that the film may get scrapped or delayed indefinitely, producer Bhushan Kumar has said that the project is pretty much on.

Bhushan exclusively told Money Control, “He strengthened me by saying that Spirit is a large canvas film and it gives me the perfect scope to work with a lot of amazing people that I am an ardent fan of. “Spirit will go on floor in the next 2-3 months and we’re planning for a 2027 release.” Well, this official update clears the air about silicon reach which is that was the film silently shelved resulting in other Prabhas films lined up.

While Prabhas is busy shooting for Fauzi and is gearing up for the promotions of Raja Saab where he plays the lead, directed by Maruthi, it looks like Spirit shall be his next big project. And while there were initial reports that had hinted at the possibility of HanuMan director Prashanth Varma collaborating with the actor before, the fact remains, the actor will shoot even Spirit before he moves to his next.

In Spirit, Prabhas plays a fiery policeman in this high-octane intense and powerful cop drama for which Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Kabir Singh (Hindi) and the upcoming Animal in Telugu is writing the screenplay. The power-packed combination of Vanga’s emotional storytelling and Prabhas’ strong screen presence has already raised the expectations of fans.

Meanwhile, Prabhas has many other projects like Kalki 2, Salaar 2 and the untitled Prashanth Varma film, spin-offs waiting for them at different stages of production. However, when Nag Ashwin was recently asked during an AMA session, he said there’s no countdown set yet for Kalki 2 as he is getting busy with the film with Prabhas. 1. Entity has already declared that they will be releasing Salaar 2 in 2023.

Prabhas is currently busy with the shooting of Fauzi and with the promotions of Raja Saab coming up in a few months, it has been reported that there will be no changes in his scheduled diaries except for him starting the shooting of Spirit right after wrapping up Fauzi.

Spirit's official launch posters are a sign of what's in store for fans in the months ahead as production picks up pace for what is sure to be another stepping stone in star Prabhas' action filmography.
