Pooja Hegde reveals desire to star in Sridevi’s biopic: ‘I would love to act in that film’

One of the most sought-after actresses is Pooja Hegde, a well-known figure in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema. Pooja's career is continuing to take off as she gets ready for the release of her eagerly awaited movie Retro.

She has experimented with a variety of genres, but she hasn't yet ventured into biopics.

During a recent conversation, Pooja revealed her strong desire to star in a biopic, admitting that it is a genre she hasn’t had the chance to explore so far. When asked if she would be interested in playing the iconic Sridevi, she responded enthusiastically. “I already danced to her song, Elluvachi Godaramma. And, I would love to act in that film,” Pooja said, reflecting her admiration for the late superstar.

While Pooja’s interest in portraying legendary figures is clear, she expressed an even greater inclination towards portraying untold stories of unsung heroes. “Biopic is something that I have not done before. However, it excites me to be a part of the stories about unsung heroes rather than famous persons. At the same time, I also want to act in sports dramas,” she added, outlining her aspirations to diversify her portfolio further.

It would surely be thrilling to watch Pooja embody Sridevi's enduring legacy, especially considering her extraordinary acting abilities and steadily rising popularity. Her increasing recognition as a pan-Indian actress and her experience working with some of the biggest names in the business make her an ideal choice for such a big role.

Pooja is currently preparing for the release of Retro, in which she co-stars with Suriya, the biggest star in Tamil cinema. The Karthik Subbaraj-directed movie is scheduled to open in theatres on May 1. Pooja is also presently filming Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a Bollywood movie in which she co-stars with Varun Dhawan. David Dhawan is the director of this upcoming movie, which will further establish Pooja as a leading lady in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema.
