Mumbai police officials visited Saif Ali Khan's residence today to record the actor's statement following an alarming incident on January 16, when he was reportedly stabbed by an intruder.
The actor had been attacked by an unidentified individual, raising concerns about his safety. Saif, who was unharmed in the attack, has since cooperated with the investigation. Authorities are actively working to identify the assailant, and the police presence at his home was part of their ongoing inquiry into the shocking event.
Saif Ali Khan was discharged from the hospital yesterday, appearing to be in great health and high spirits. The actor, who had previously undergone treatment for the injury sustained during the attack, looked perfectly fine as he stepped out.
He was seen smiling and posing for the cameras, dressed casually in a white shirt and blue jeans, radiating confidence and vitality. Despite the shocking incident, Saif's recovery seems swift, and his upbeat demeanor reassured fans about his well-being.
His statement is the most important and will help police to know what happened on that night when he was stabbed six times by the accused.
The suspect, a Bangladeshi national, has been arrested. It is reported that he entered India via Myanmar before making his way to Mumbai.
Police took Mohammed Shariful Islam, also known as Vijay Das, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national arrested in the case, to Saif Ali Khan's residence in Bandra. There, they re-enacted the crime scene to determine the sequence of events.
Saif Ali Khan suffered six injuries, including two severe stab wounds, during a break-in at his duplex residence on January 16, which occurred between 2:00 and 2:30 AM. He was transported to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw and immediately underwent emergency surgery, during which a knife blade lodged in his spine was removed. Doctors had previously reported that he also sustained injuries to his hand and neck.
