The popular South Korean actor, Park Min-young, who is known for her role in What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?, has recently reflected on the global impact of K-dramas. She expressed her shock that people recognise her in different parts of the country.
During a recent interview with PTI, the actress said, “It hits me when I go visit different countries and not in the city, but when I go to the countryside and there are people who recognise me.”
The actress explained, “When you're in the city, I think that's pretty much expected. But if there are people who know me when I am in a different country and in the countryside, that's when I can truly feel the power of Korean drama and how popular it is.”
The actress has become a household name with her role in the K-dramas like Sungkyunkwan Scandal, a determined journalist in Healer, a sharp-witted secretary in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? and a devoted fangirl in Her Private Life.
She is currently gearing up for her upcoming Prime Video show, Confidence Queen, which is slated to release on September 6. She will star alongside Park Hee-soon and Joo Jong-hyuk.
The comedy drama series is a remake of the Japanese show The Confidence Man JP. The original series features Park as Yi-rang, a smart woman who becomes the ultimate con artist.
The upcoming series follows a high-powered con artist offering all the makings of a rollicking caper: wit, chaos, emotional depth, and an ensemble cast with dynamic synergy.
