Paresh Rawal officially exits from Hera Pheri 3

Paresh Rawal has recently disappointed his fans after quitting the most-awaited Hera Pheri 3, which also stars Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty in the pivotal roles. He has also previously confirmed in his Tweet that he has left the franchise, but not due to the creative differences.

While the fans are still hoping the actor to return to the iconic franchise, Rawal has officially dropped out of the film and reportedly returned his signing amount to the makers.

According to recent reports by Bollywood Hungama, Rawal has allegedly returned Rs 11 lakhs, which he received as a signing fee. He also handed back 15 percent annual interest and a little extra to compensate for his exit.

A source told the outlet, “Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs with 15% p.a. interest and also a little more money for stepping away from the series.”

The source further shared that Rawal was set to earn Rs 15 crores for the film, but with a condition that the remaining Rs 14.89 crores would be paid only a month after the film's release. Given that filming starts next year and the release is likely in 2026 or 2027, the delayed payment didn't appeal to him.

“Paresh Rawal was paid Rs. 11 lakhs as a signing amount as per the term sheet. His total fees were locked at Rs 15 crores. The term sheet mentioned that Paresh Rawal would receive the balance amount – Rs. 14.89 crores – only one month after the release of the film," said the insider.

Rawal reportedly decided to quit the franchise because of the prolonged wait for the payment. The actor’s departure has also resulted in a legal battle with Akshay Kumar’s production crew, Cape of Good Films. The production has reportedly sued Rawal for Rs 25 crores.

For the unversed, the OG Hera Pheri was released in 2000, followed by its sequel Phir Hera Pheri in 2006. Both films became cult classics, with fans still enjoying re-watching them. Paresh Rawal portrays Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and won millions of hearts with his quirky dialogues and comedy timings.
