Anupama Parameswaran's most recent comedy-drama, Paradha, broke the typical four-week gap by arriving on OTT just three weeks after its theatrical release. The action was taken after the film, which had a promising beginning, struggled at the box office and garnered mixed reviews from critics and viewers.
With English subtitles, Paradha is currently available for Telugu and Malayalam streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It's interesting to note that the streaming behemoth did not formally announce the movie's release, but it has been covertly added to its library and is free for subscribers to access.
Paradha, which is set in a village with long-standing customs, centers on Subbu, a young woman who faces harsh repercussions after her veiled face unexpectedly shows up in a magazine. She endures mockery and punishment in spite of her innocence. Subbu sets out to track down the enigmatic photographer who took the photo, determined to clear her name. She is accompanied by her encouraging aunt Rathnamma and Ami, a dejected Delhi engineer, which results in an unusual journey that is both humorous and poignant.
Praveen Kandregula is the film's director. Sangeetha Krish and Darshana Rajendran, who is making her Telugu debut, play important supporting parts. Dharmendra Kakarala is in charge of editing, Mridul Sujit Sen is in charge of cinematography, and Gopi Sundar is in charge of music. Vijay Donkada, Rohit Koppu, Sridhar Makkuva, and Sreenivasulu PV are producing the movie under the Ananda Media banner.

Despite not living up to the hype in theaters, Paradha's strong performances, especially from Anupama, and its story about women will probably be appreciated online. The movie now has a new opportunity to reach a larger audience thanks to its early OTT release.
