Pallavi Rao announces divorce from husband Suraj Rao after 22 years of marriage citing compatibility issues

Television actress Pallavi Rao, known for her role in TV shows including Pandya Store, has recently parted ways from her director husband, Suraj Rao. The TV actress announced that she and Suraj are heading for a divorce after 22 years of marriage.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Pallavi announced the separation and revealed that the former couple have mutually decided to part ways. The TV actor cited 'compatibility issues' as the reason for their divorce. She claimed that they have been facing marital woes for the past few years. She also claimed to have taken the ‘tough decision’ to live a peaceful life.

Pallavi said, “We had compatibility issues for the past few years and have now finally decided to part ways. It was a tough decision because we have a 21-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son."

She added, “Sometimes, it’s better to part ways amicably and choose to live a peaceful life. I respect Suraj and will always wish well for him.” The former couple parted ways two weeks ago and have been living apart since.

For the unversed, Pallavi Rao and Suraj Rao met for the first time on the set in Mumbai and sparked an instant connection. They tied the knot in 2003 in the presence of their close ones. The duo share two kids together, a 21-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son.

On the work front, Pallavi has been working in TV shows for the last two decades. Besides Pandya Store, she is also known for her roles in TV serials, like Yeh Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar, Qayamat Se Qayamat, and Diya Aur Baati Hum. Meanwhile, Suraj has directed some of the iconic shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Shaka Laka Boom Boom, and more.
