Park Bo-young stars in two different roles in Netflix new K drama

South Korean actors Park Bo-young and GOT7's Park Jin-young are collaborating for the upcoming drama Our Unwritten Seoul. The highly anticipated trailer of the upcoming drama created a buzz among the audience as Park Bo-young will take on dual roles for the very first time in her career.

The trailer opens with Bo-young’s series of childhood memories flashing on the screen with the line “Doppelganger, Hardheaded. We were together from page one.”

However, the trailer then features a split screen showing them at a bus station, portraying different life choices. Yu Mi-rae is seen in a crowded station and portrayed as a diligent office worker. However, Yu Mi-ji is seen cycling through an empty road in the countryside. She works at a supermarket.

The trailer moves to a series of heart-wrenching moments, punctuated by the haunting question, "Are you comfortable?" A poignant scene depicts Mi-rae's attempted suicide, saved by Mi-ji's timely intervention. Later, Jinyoung's character, Lee Ho-soo, offers a helping hand to Mi-rae.

Mi-ji, who is visibly exhausted by her mother's persistent questioning about how she'll face her sister, Mi-rae, and is reluctant to discuss her dreams.

Despite the darkness, the trailer concludes on an uplifting note, with Mi-rae and Mi-ji embarking on a journey of self-discovery. They embark on an adventure to find a ‘real’ life through a life-altering lie.

Our Unwritten Seoul revolves around twin sisters, Yu Mi-ji and Yu Mi-rae, who are identical in appearance yet opposite in personality. Chaos follows them as they choose different life paths.

After facing life-altering challenges, the sisters decided to swap their identities, with both Mi-ji and Mi-rae facing new difficulties and discovering love and their true selves.

Park Bo-young flawlessly plays two roles, Yu Mi-ji, a lively and bubbly former athlete whose promising sports career was cut short, and Yu Mi-rae, her more reserved and introverted sister.

Directed by Park Shin-woo, the upcoming drama is written by Lee Kang. The series is planned by Studio Dragon and co-produced by Monster Union, Higround, and Next Scene.

Park Bo-young was last seen in the drama Melo Movie. Meanwhile, Jinyoung starred in the drama The Witch. Both dramas were released in February 2025.

Our Unwritten Seoul is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on May 24.
