Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari won over a fair share of moviegoers during its theatrical run, and now fans who missed it on the big screen won’t have to wait much longer. The Dharma Productions film is set for its OTT debut, bringing good news for viewers eager to catch it from home.
With the movie arriving on digital platforms just weeks after its release, audiences who couldn’t make it to theatres will finally get to enjoy it. As reported by 123Telugu and TOI, the Shashank Khaitan-directed rom-com will begin streaming on Netflix from November 27, 2025, as the platform holds the post-theatrical rights.
Set against the grandeur of a traditional Indian wedding, the film follows Sunny and Tulsi as their relationship navigates customs, family disputes, heartfelt moments, and the usual wedding chaos. It blends drama, emotions, and breezy romance, delivering the classic Bollywood wedding entertainer vibe.
Along with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi in important roles. The project was produced by Karan Johar and Shashank Khaitan under Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment.
The film’s music also played a major role in its appeal, with songs like “Panwadi” and “Bijuria” emerging as chart-toppers. Both tracks quickly became audience favourites — Panwadi for its catchy, high-energy vibe and Bijuria for its vibrant choreography and festive feel.
While Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari collected around Rs 98.35 crore worldwide, it faced stiff competition from Kantara Chapter 1, led by Rishab Shetty.
Moneycontrol’s review of the film reads: "At its core, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is a glossy family romance designed to entertain in passing. It will make you smile in spurts and perhaps chuckle at its lighter moments, but it never aspires to be more than a safe, formulaic rom-com. For audiences looking for depth, originality, or memorable storytelling, the film offers little. For those happy with song-and-dance escapism, it plays like harmless filler on a weekend evening."
