The 97th Academy Award recently featured milestone moments, and several personalities received accolades. However, the audience at the annual award ceremony, held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, also witnessed a hilarious exchange between former Parks and Recreation costars, Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman.
Parks and Recreation stars reunited at the 2025 Oscars where Offerman jokingly mispronounced Poehler's name while announcing the evening's next presenters. He announced, “Amy Poe-ell-er.”

Offerman has taken on the role of official announcer for the evening, a position previously held by David Alan Grier and originally started by former President Ronald Reagan in 1953.
Meanwhile, Poehler attended the annual ceremony to present the nominees for Best Original Screenplay. While announcing the category, she said, "I believe it was William Shakespeare who said, 'Writing is a bitch.’” She then announced Anora scribe Sean Baker as the winner. Poehler also presented the Best Adapted Screenplay award to Peter Straughan for Conclave.
Poehler and Offerman worked together on the TV show Parks and Recreation for 7 years. Offerman played Ron Swanson, a grumpy boss, while Poehler played Leslie Knope, a cheerful and optimistic employee. Their characters were complete opposites, making for a funny and interesting dynamic.
Amy Poehler was last seen in the animated movie, Inside Out 2. She was behind the voice of Joy. However, she is currently working as an executive producer of the upcoming series Three Busy Debras.
Meanwhile, Nick Offerman was last starred in Civil War and The Last of Us. He has a pile of exciting films, including Smurfs (2025) and Mission Impossible 8
