Oscar-winning music director A R Rahman discharged after brief hospitalisation

AR Rahman has now been discharged was being admitted to a private hospital on Greams Road in Chennai for a brief while. The music composer recently returned to India from his London trip.

AR rushed to hospital in Chennai

Renowned music composer A.R. Rahman, who was admitted to a corporate hospital due to dehydration, has now been discharged and is recovering well at home, his family confirmed on Sunday.

The 58-year-old musician was hospitalized in the early hours of Sunday morning, as per his manager, Senthil Velan. Meanwhile, Rahman’s sister, A.R. Reihana, dismissed speculations regarding him experiencing chest pain. Clarifying the situation, she stated that he was admitted due to dehydration and gastric issues, putting to rest any unfounded rumours.

He was admitted to a private hospital on Greams Road in Chennai on Sunday morning after he complained about chest pain.

According to India Today reports, AR Rahman was hospitalized at around 7:30 am and a series of tests, including an ECG and echocardiogram, have been performed. Hospital sources have previously revealed that Rahman may also require an angiogram.

Following reports of A.R. Rahman’s hospitalization, his son, A.R. Ameen, took to Instagram Stories to share an update on his father’s health.

"To all our dear fans, family, and well-wishers, I sincerely thank you for your love, prayers, and support. My father felt a bit weak due to dehydration hence we went ahead and did some routine tests, but I'm happy to share that he is doing well now. Your kind words and blessings mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your concern and continued support. Much love and gratitude to you all!"

He also shared a picture of the Hospital prescription which had clearly mentioned that AR Rahman had visited the Hospital for routine check ups due to symptoms of dehydration.

Rahman returned to India from London last night and went to the hospital for a check-up after feeling unwell.

Doctors have shared that the musician's illness was caused by dehydration due to fasting for Ramzan. Fortunately, they confirmed that he is now out of danger and recovering well.

Recently, AR Rahman shared the stage with Ed Sheeran in Chennai and also attended the music launch of his movie Chaava, showcasing his busy and exciting schedule.

Earlier to AR Rahma hospitalization, his ex-wife Saira Banu was also hospitalized due to a medical emergency and had to undergo surgery. Saira’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, took to her social media and shared the news to her fans.

On the work front, AR Rahman has had a busy year with two movie releases, Kadhalikka Neramillai and Chhaava. He has many upcoming projects, including Thug Life with Kamal Hassan, set to release on June 10. Other exciting projects in the works include Lahore 1947, Tere Ishk Mein, and Ramayana series, among others.
