Om Raut turns Producer for quirky drama ‘Inspector Zende,’ a must-see Mumbai cop story

Inspector Zende’s story is one that deserves to be seen, remembered and celebrated.

Netflix’s new gritty drama, Inspector Zende, follows a relentless cop hunting the notorious Swimsuit Killer after his escape from Tihar Jail. Set in 70s–80s Mumbai, this cat-and-mouse chase, inspired by true events, blends determination and raw action.

Starring Manoj Bajpayee as Inspector Madhukar Zende and Jim Sarbh as the cunning conman Carl Bhojraj, aka the "swimsuit killer," this crime-comedy is directed and written by Chinmay D. Mandlekar. The supporting cast includes Bhalchandra Kadam, Sachin Kedekar, Girija Oak, and Harish Dudhade. Inspector Zende delivers a nostalgic mix of suspense and humor, capturing an era when police work relied more on instinct and grit than technology
