Nushrratt Bharuccha talks about dating Honey singh

Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, once a trailblazer in the Indian music industry with his string of Punjabi hits, has recently made a strong comeback to the entertainment world. Despite his fame and success, Singh’s journey hasn’t been without its struggles. He faced a prolonged battle with health issues, including a serious phase marked by bipolar disorder, which forced him to step back from the spotlight for some time.

Now back in action, Honey Singh has reignited public curiosity—not just for his music, but also for his personal life. Lately, there’s been a buzz linking him romantically to Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha.

The gossip mill picked up pace after reports claimed his growing closeness with Nushrratt led to the breakup with his former girlfriend, Tina Thadani. One of the widely circulated rumours was that the rapper was seen holding hands with Nushrratt, further fueling speculation.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Nushrratt finally addressed the rumours with grace and a dash of wit. She said, “Yeh mere life ka pehla dating rumour hai. Everywhere that I have been, there has been no rumour. Also, because I have never been with anyone. When this came, I was like ‘Wow, I finally have one’. Now when people ask me these questions in rapid fire, I can at least tell them that I too had a dating rumour. I think people have no work in life and they also have a great imagination. So karte raho, I have no problem.”

While Nushrratt dismissed the rumours light-heartedly, the rapper’s past controversies also continue to surface. In 2022, Singh’s estranged wife, Shalini Singh, filed a case against him at Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court.

Her allegations were serious—ranging from domestic violence and mental abuse to financial fraud. She also accused Singh’s father of inappropriate behaviour, adding another layer to the controversy.

Despite his personal turmoil, Honey Singh managed to reclaim his musical throne in 2024 with the release of his hit track Stardom and a well-received OTT documentary, marking a fresh chapter in his career.
