Kangana Ranaut organized an exclusive screening of her much-anticipated film Emergency in Nagpur, which took place on Saturday. The event saw the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who attended in support, alongside Kangana’s co-star from the film, Anupam Kher. The screening sparked great excitement as the film's cast and political figures gathered to witness the first glimpse of the movie.

Kangana, who also directs and stars in the historical drama, has been receiving attention for her portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Emergency.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), news agency PTI shared a video in which Kangana spoke about the film. "Today, we are actually having the first screening of the film. Before this, no one has seen the film. The censor board was extremely strict, and they conducted thorough scrutiny. We had to provide so much proof and documentation. After six months of struggle, the film is finally ready," Kangana mentioned.

"I am watching the film for the first time, and I have witnessed Emergency in the country. The true history of Emergency that Kangana ji has presented in front of the public today is correct. I am fully confident that this film will receive support from the public as well." Nitin Gadkari said.

Kangana recently took to Instagram to share several photos from the screening. One of the pictures captured a moment where Nitin Gadkari, Kangana, and Anupam Kher were engaged in conversation.

"#emergency with @gadkari.nitin ji Releasing 17th January," Kangana captioned the post.

I wholeheartedly thank the filmmakers and actors for presenting the dark chapter of our nation's history with such authenticity and excellence. I urge everyone to watch this film, which portrays a significant period in India's history," he posted.

Emergency is set to release in theaters on January 17. The film also features Shreyas Talpade and the late Satish Kaushik. Directed by Kangana, it chronicles the 21-month-long emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1975 to 1977 and its aftermath. Kangana portrays the role of Indira Gandhi in the film.

In Emergency, Anupam Kher will portray the late politician Jayaprakash Narayan, while Shreyas Talpade takes on the role of a young Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Milind Soman will be seen as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Mahima Choudhary plays Pupul Jayakar, and the late Satish Kaushik will appear as Jagjivan Ram.
