The ongoing HYBE vs. ADOR dispute surrounding K-pop girl group NewJeans has taken a new turn as the parents of the group’s members have stepped forward to share their stance. In a surprising move, the parents of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have launched a social media account to address what they claim is misinformation being spread about the conflict.

A new Instagram account (@jeanz_pr) appeared, reportedly created by NewJeans’ parents to directly communicate their perspective on the dispute between HYBE and ADOR.

In their first official statement, they explained the reason for launching the account. "Good afternoon. These are the parents of Minji, Honey, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein.

This account will be temporarily operated, please be informed that it has been opened in order to represent a position in the conflict with HYBE.

Since there was no official window to convey my opinion, I tried several times to conduct interviews through various media outlets, or to convey a factual relationship through reporters I came to know.

Thankfully, there were some media that accepted it as it is, but there were very few. I also tried the full distribution through the main event, but I had a lot of difficulties in getting our position across the ground without distortion, such as the headline is written weirdly.

While the stories of the members are distorted or cited in a negative frame, it has stopped to be distributed only in the extreme articles, HYBE and ADOR have been distributing hundreds of articles in a day through various media outlets including internet applications, which represent only the position of HYBE and ADOR through the fact-checking and opposing the right to comment process without even going through the fact-reporting process.

Regretfully, ahead of the lawsuit, HYBE and ADOR are once again reporting that they are turning to various reporters such as Tollasi to spread false articles aimed at its members, and I have created this account.

It's very comforting to know that there are people who will be tired of the long conflict.

However, please understand that the content that will be delivered through this account will be difficult for members to communicate directly. As the only spokesperson of the members, it is a desperate situation that requires a transmission channel to correct the relationship," they wrote.

The rift between NewJeans and their agency ADOR started when the group attempted to terminate their contract, citing ADOR’s failure to meet their demands. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court, seeking to enforce the group’s exclusive contracts.

NewJeans, however, has made it clear they will not return to ADOR or HYBE, having already appointed a top law firm to handle legal proceedings. The group even considered changing their name and held a contest asking fans for suggestions. However, ADOR quickly intervened, warning that a name change could lead to major legal consequences.
