After nearly a decade, Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan is making his long-awaited Bollywood comeback with Abir Gulaal, a romantic comedy co-starring Vaani Kapoor. The film’s teaser, unveiled on Tuesday, has taken the internet by storm, with fans ecstatic over his return.
Beyond his signature charm and undeniable chemistry with Vaani, Fawad has also surprised audiences by lending his vocals to the iconic Kumar Sanu song Kuch Na Kaho, adding a nostalgic touch to his comeback.
The moment Vaani Kapoor dropped the teaser on Instagram on April 1, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. The comment section quickly overflowed with love for Fawad Khan, as audiences celebrated his long-awaited return to Indian cinema.
One fan wrote, "The world is healing. This era is finally back?!" Another fan wrote, "Fawad what the heck such a big suprise." A comment read, "Omggggggggggg so thankful fawad is back in Bollywood omgggg so happy like so so happy." Another netizen wrote, "love how fawad khan does what he love and really don't care about anything." "Fawad khan is back in Bollywood."
Fawad was last seen in Bollywood in the 2016 film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In the same year, Pakistani artists were banned from working in India, following the Pulwama attack.

In 2023, the ban on Pakistani artists was lifted, and in 2024, Fawad Khan announced that his record-breaking Pakistani film, The Legend of Maula Jatt, was set to release in India.
However, the film faced strong opposition from various political parties, leading theatre owners and distributors to ultimately decide against its release in the country.
