Nagarjuna and Santhanam joins Rajikanth starrer Jailer sequel

After the huge success of Jailer, which has minted a whopping Rs 700 crore at the worldwide box office, Thalaivar Rajinikanth is all set to make his roaring comeback with the highly anticipated sequel, Jailer 2. Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar yet again, the sequel has been rolled out, and shooting is happening in various parts of India.

The first part received a rave review from the critics as well as the audience and became one of the massive hits of Rajinikanth in the last few years. Jailer 2 will likely be one of the most anticipated Indian movies in development right now.

Santhanam’s comic comeback

And now an interesting update has come in Filmibeat, which says that Comedy King Santhanam is expected to be a part of Jailer 2. With his excellent comic timing, Santhanam enjoyed huge success as a solo hero, he had made it clear that he would soon team up for comedy films, but only with leading actors. His potential performance in Jailer 2 also confirms a return to his comedic roots.

With filmmaker Nelson’s trademark mix of comedy and action, Santhanam will only bring in a dash of humour and nostalgia for fans of Tamil cinema.

That’s not all; if sources are to be believed, Telugu giant Nagarjuna Akkineni who is already sharing the screen space with Rajinikanth in Coolie will also be roped in for Jailer 2.

If it gets sealed, it will also be Nagarjuna’s second film with Rajinikanth at such close quarters and broaden the pan-India reach of the film. There has been no formal confirmation of his participation.
