Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar to perform the open act at Akon's concert in Delhi

Akon’s grand return to India just got even more exciting. Delhi is gearing up for a night of musical magic as pop sensations Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar are all set to open for the global superstar on November 9.

The high-voltage concert, organized by Sara Awwad — founder of Studio Majime — in partnership with White Fox, will mark the start of Akon’s India tour. Following the Delhi show, he will perform in Bengaluru on November 14 and in Mumbai on November 16.

Sharing her excitement, Sara Awwad said, “When we decided to bring Akon back to India, we wanted each city to experience more than just a concert. Delhi, in particular, has something special in store. Sukriti and Prakriti bring the perfect mix of energy and talent — they truly represent India’s modern pop spirit.”

The Kakar sisters, known for hits like Mafiyaan, Kehndi Haan Kehndi Naa, and Sona Lagda, are expected to deliver an electrifying performance. For them, sharing the stage with Akon is a dream come true.

Sukriti expressed her excitement, saying, “It feels surreal. We grew up dancing to Akon’s tracks like Smack That, Chammak Challo, and Bananza (Belly Dancer). We even used to write down his lyrics in little notebooks while listening on our MP3 players. Now, performing before him in our hometown, Delhi, feels like a full-circle moment.”

Prakriti echoed her sister’s thoughts, adding, “Akon’s songs shaped an era for us. This concert is more than a show — it’s a celebration. We’ve curated a setlist that’ll keep the energy soaring and surprise everyone.”
