Rapper and singer Travis Scott returned to India on Wednesday, November 19, for a thrilling performance at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai, just one month after a powerful performance in New Delhi.
Fans put in a lot of effort, including taking time off work, to attend the concert despite its midweek schedule. In one instance, consultant Gaurav Sharma shared an unusual leave request from an employee to attend the event, which went viral on the internet.
Gaurav was initially confused by the email, which was titled "Application for Sicko Leave", a wordplay on Travis’s 2018 hit song, "Sicko Mode", thinking the employee had spelt it incorrectly.
Gaurav shared the screenshot of the leave email on his LinkedIn and captioned, “I think this might be the moment I officially realised I am getting old. This morning, someone from my team sent me a request for "Sicko Leave." I assumed it was a typo, surely he meant 'sick' leave?!”
He added, “And this young gentleman responds - very calmly - ‘No sir, Sicko Leave. Travis Scott is performing in Mumbai that day.’ I had to reread the email. Twice.”
The employee wrote that the vibes were just as important as the work and asked for leave on the day of the concert.
The employee wrote in the email, “Hey Gaurav. Hope you're doing well! I wanted to request leave for Wednesday, 19th November. Travis Scott is performing in Mumbai that day, and I've got tickets.”

"While it's important to work, it's just as important to vibe. So please consider this my official application for one day of Sicko Leave -purely in the interest of maintaining work-life balance and cultural relevance,” the email added.
Social media users praised Gaurav for having a pleasant workplace culture where employees didn't have to lie to take a day off, as the post gained popularity.
During the show, the stage and the Mumbai night sky were illuminated by pyrotechnics and flaming visuals while the rapper performed hits like HYAENA, Dumbo, and Goosebumps.
