ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo recently opened up about a perilous incident that sparked from his insecurity about his buttocks. The K-pop idol shared how this insecurity inadvertently saved him from a potentially dangerous accident, shedding light on the unexpected ways in which insecurities can sometimes serve as blessings in disguise.

Cha Eun-woo recounted the incident as he revealed that his initial concerns about his buttocks led him to avoid certain exercises at the gym. However, this decision ultimately proved to be a stroke of luck when he narrowly escaped an accident while skiing.

In an episode of Knowing Bros, Cha Eun-woo spoke about his past insecurity. He has an “ori-goongdengi” that translates to “duck butt”. Cha Eun-woo admitted on the show that his “duck butt” or fluffier butt made him feel self-conscious until it saved him from the accident.

“It happened while shooting a music video,” he recalled. The ASTRO members had to jump and land on a set built for a specific ending for the video. As it was tricky for all six members to land at the same time, they gave multiple takes for the shot due to which the set collapsed beneath their feet. Cha Eun-woo fell down and felt something stab him, he was bleeding from his behind as he had crashed onto a protruding nail. He was quickly rushed to the hospital where his doctor said he couldn’t have been luckier! His big butt provided the much-needed support to cushion the fall.

According to Cha Eun-woo, his avoidance of certain exercises left his buttocks less muscular, which inadvertently prevented his ski pants from ripping when he fell while skiing. This fortunate turn of events prevented what could have been a serious injury, prompting Cha Eun-woo to reflect on the serendipitous nature of his insecurity.
