Indian woman cricketer Radha Yadav unfollows Palash Muchhal

Palash Muchhal has found himself at the centre of media attention ever since his wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana was unexpectedly postponed.

While both families initially cited Smriti’s father’s sudden health scare as the reason, rumours alleging that the music composer had been unfaithful have also been circulating online. Adding to the social media drama, Smriti’s close friend and fellow cricketer Radha Yadav has unfollowed Palash on Instagram.

Interestingly, Palash continues to follow Radha on the platform.

This comes shortly after several reports suggested that Smriti herself had unfollowed Palash, but those claims were quickly debunked.

In reality, the couple continues to follow each other, indicating that the rumours may have been blown out of proportion.

Earlier today, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, addressed the swirling speculations and appealed to the public to withhold judgement.

Posting a gradient background on social media, she wrote: “Palaash is going through a critical condition today, you all should not judge Palaash as wrong without knowing the truth… Technology today has come much ahead of humans, that is why people should not judge Palaash in the face of rumours… pray for him."

Palash and Smriti were scheduled to marry on 23 November in Smriti’s hometown of Sangli, Maharashtra. However, the celebrations were called off indefinitely after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, began experiencing chest discomfort on the morning of the wedding.

He was right away taken to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre, where medical professionals stabilised his condition and performed a number of tests.

The sudden turn of events took an emotional toll on Palash as well.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, his mother revealed the depth of his distress, noting that he shared a close bond with Smriti’s father. “He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress," she said.
