Randeep Hooda reveals his movie 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar' has managed to break even and is in plus.

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is a happy man, as his recent release and directorial debut, 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar', has been performing well at the box office. The movie has been doing well in the state of Maharashtra.

Though the film is low on numbers and occupancy, it is still running in theatres and is inching close to collecting Rs 25 crore.

In an earlier conversation, Randeep had said that he had to sell off his properties in Mumbai to make this film a reality.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Randeep Hooda said that he has recovered the money he had invested in the film.

He said I joked with my father now that he can buy more properties so that he could sell them for his next movie.

“Thankfully, we have been able to make enough money. We’ve made it back, and some more. We are in plus and have managed to break even. I now joke with my dad, asking him to buy more properties so that I could sell them for my next film. Agli picture mein kaam ayega (We will mortgage it when I am making my next film).”

The movie is slowly working at the box office. It has collected Rs 23.99 crores till now, and since it is still running in theaters, the movie is likely to touch the Rs 25 crore mark.

He said, "There was a point that no money would be used in the movie from onwards, or there were disagreements on the same since the beginning. Then I asked my father, who has built a few properties using my money, because he thought that I would spend all my money on fast women and slow horses. So he saved a little money and built a few properties. I told my father, ‘I got stuck in between the shoot, and I know that people say to never put your own money to make a movie, but I had no choice. So what do you say about this?‘” Adding to that, he agreed to invest money in the movie.

Ankita Lokhande, who was seen in Bigg Boss 17, played Randeep Hooda's wife on screen.
