'Munjya' box office collection day 10: ‘Munjya’ unaffected by ‘Chandu Champion’ release, will cross Rs 60 cr mark

Aditya Sarpotdar's film 'Munjya' continues to dominate the box office, expected to surpass Rs 60 crore today, 17 June, aided by the holiday. The horror comedy had its highest earnings on Sunday and has already crossed Rs 50 crore domestically despite the release of the anticipated Kartik Aaryan film 'Chandu Champion' on 14 June

Aditya Sarpotdar director ‘Munjya’ is continuing its streak of unwavering dominance over the box office as it is expected to cross the Rs 60 crore mark today, 17 June. It is also a holiday which will work well for the film.

The horror comedy film reportedly had its biggest earning day on Sunday. As per Sacnilk.com, ‘Munjya’ has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark already at the domestic box office. The film which is part of the horror universe helmed by Maddock Films released on 7 June.

The much awaited Kartik Aaryan film ‘Chandu Champion’ released on 14 June but has not managed to tip ‘Munjya’s crown.

The box office collections for the second weekend of ‘Munjya’ is higher than the first weekend. On the first weekend, the film earned Rs 8.43 cr and on the second weekend the film grossed Rs 8.75 cr.

‘Chandu Champion’ may have impacted the Sharvari starrer film at urban centres but ‘Munjya’ is going strongly and leading in mass pockets and heartland.

The week one collection of ‘Munjya’ was Rs 35.3 crore. The film earned Rs 3.5 crore on day 8 and Rs 6.5 crore on day 9. So far, the film has crossed the 5s 50 cr mark and grossed Rs 53.8 crore. The horror comedy film achieved an overall 46.35% Hindi occupancy on Sunday.

‘Munjya’ stars Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, Suhas Joshi and Sathyaraj. The film is set in Pune and the Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is rooted in Marathi folklore. The film follows the story of Munjya, a mischievous mythical creature who wreaks havoc in Bittu’s (Played by Abhay Verma) life.

‘Munjya’ is the latest feather in Maddock Film’s horror universe’s cap. The universe, which initiated with ‘Stree’ (2018), also includes Roohi (2021), and Bhediya (2022). The second instalment of the much beloved film ‘Stree’ will be released on Independence Day this year.
