BMC pays tribute to late veteran actress Sridevi, names a junction in Lokhandwala Complex as 'Sridevi Kapoor Chowk'

One such tribute came from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). They named a junction in Lokhandwala Complex as 'Sridevi Kapoor Chowk.' This area was significant to Sridevi, as she lived on the same road at the Green Acres tower. Furthermore, her funeral procession also passed through this road. The decision to name the junction after her came from the requests of local residents and the municipality, showing the deep respect and love the community held for her.

In addition to this honor, discussions about a biopic on Sridevi’s life have surfaced. However, her husband, Boney Kapoor, has expressed reservations about such a project. In an interview with DNA, he mentioned, "She was a very private person, and her life should remain private.” He firmly stated, "I don't think there ever will be. Till the time I live, I will not allow this to happen."

Sridevi’s influence extended beyond the film industry. She was also a fan of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. After the release of a film about Chamkila, an old friend of his, Sawarn Sivia, revealed in a YouTube interview that Sridevi admired Chamkila's music. She even expressed a desire to work with him in a film. According to Sivia, as quoted by India Today, Sridevi proposed making a Punjabi film with Chamkila, although he initially hesitated due to language barriers and financial considerations. Unfortunately, this collaboration never materialized.
