Anil Kapoor praises wife Sunita for always being by his side and says, 'She stepped forward to share the load where money was concerned'

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor said that when he was a struggling actor, his wife Sunita (centre) would pay for dates and things he needed even before he could ask.

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, who seems to be ageing in reverse and is quite popular nowadays, recalled the times when his wife shared the load with him during his days of struggling.

Anil Kapoor, who is the father of three—Sonam, Rhea, and Harshvardhan Kapoor—was attending a promotional event with his actor daughter Sonam Kapoor when he spoke highly about his wife Sunita Kapoor.

Anil Kapoor, who has always credited his wife Sunita Kapoor for being his backbone, said: "When I first met Sunita 50 years ago, I was, obviously, not doing very well financially. She would take care of a lot of things, and that’s how we shared the load. She stepped forward to share the load as far as money was concerned. It’s not only about doing household jobs."

Anil Kapoor and Sunita have been married for four decades now. He said during his struggle period there were a few things he couldn't afford, but he never had to tell Sunita as she would understand it on her own.

Further talking about his wife, he said that during their dating years, she would pay their restaurant bill before he could even know.

"There were times when I couldn’t afford certain things, but I didn’t have to tell her. She would automatically... Travelling, going out for meals—sometimes we’d go to a normal restaurant, sometimes we’d go to a slightly better restaurant when we were dating each other. Automatically, she knows that, of course, I don’t have the money to pay the bill. So, she quickly slips some money out of her bag, and before I can come to know it, she’s already paid the bill," he said.

His daughter, Sonam Kapoor, who is married to businessman Anand Ahuja and has a son, joked that her mother still pays the bills.

Anil Kapoor tied the knot with Sunita on May 19, 1984, and the duo looks young as always. Talking about Anil Kapoor's professional career, he was seen in many successful movies, the most recent being the blockbuster 'Animal' with Ranbir Kapoor and 'Fighter' with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.

The 'Mr India' actor has many promising movies in hand right now. He is known to follow a strict fitness regime and inspires his fans at this age as well.
