Alia Bhatt heads to New York for her second Met Gala appearance

Alia Bhatt, clad in comfortable white attire, waved to photographers before departing for New York City, the venue for the Met Gala event.

Actress Alia Bhatt was spotted at the private airport in Mumbai on Saturday (May 4) evening, leaving for New York to attend the Met Gala event.

The Met Gala is held on the first Sunday of May.

This will be Alia Bhatt’s second appearance at the prestigious Met Gala.

Alia Bhatt was dressed in comfy white clothes as she waved to Paparazzi before leaving for New York City, where the Met Gala event takes place. Many Indian celebrities have attended the prestigious event in the past.

Ali Bhatt made her Met Gala debut last year, where she was seen in a Prabal Gurung white gown that aligned with the theme of Karl Lagerfield: A Line of Beauty.

This year’s theme is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, and it will be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The Met Gala will be co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth.

Both Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will miss the Met Gala this year due to their packed shoot schedules.

Priyanka Chopra had walked the red carpet at the Met Gala with Nick Jonas in 2017, which was also their first public event as a couple.

Deepika has slayed the red carpet of the Met Gala in the past. She made her Met Gala debut in 2019 when she wore a Tommy Hilfiger gown. In the next few years, she was seen looking gorgeous in gowns by designers Prabal Gurung and Zac Posen.

The guests who will be attending the event have been asked to dress for 'The Garden of Time', named after JG's 1962 short story.

The guest list is always kept secret, but Anna Wintour has the right to invite. According to a spokesperson for the Costume Institute, around 400 people have been selected this year.

A designer is also allowed to buy an entire table at the Met Gala.
