Following the huge success of the film, the legendary actor Mohanlal has also recently expressed his interest in collaborating with Hombale Films on their upcoming project, Kantara: Chapter 1.
During a recent interview with OTTPlay, the actor was asked if he was part of Kantara 2. Mohanlal clarified that he isn’t involved in the film as of now. However, he publicly expressed his enthusiasm, humbly asking the filmmakers to keep him in mind for a potential role in the franchise.
Mohanlal said, “Please ask them to put me in Kantara 2. Give me a role. I am not a bad actor, I think.” After Mohanlal expressed his desire to star in the Kantara sequel, fans have now been eagerly waiting to see if the actor will act in their next film.
For the unversed, upcoming Kantara: Chapter 1 will be a big-budget film that will take Indian cinema to the next level. Fans are super excited about the film, and the anticipation grows with every new update.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda and Kishore Kumar G, among others. The upcoming prequel to the 2022 film Kantara is speculated to be set during the Kadamba dynasty era.
The upcoming film will explore the origins of the Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva, delving into the untamed wilderness and forgotten lore surrounding these deities. Kantara: Chapter 1 is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2025.
