For months, there have been persistent rumours surrounding cricketer Mohammed Siraj’s alleged relationship with actress Mahira Sharma, a former Bigg Boss 13 contestant. Despite both Mahira and her mother repeatedly denying the speculations, the gossip continues to make the rounds. Now, ahead of the IPL 2025, Siraj has found himself the subject of media attention regarding his personal life, and he has finally addressed it.

The eagerly awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to kick off on March 22, with the opening match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Things took a dramatic turn on Thursday, March 20, when Mahira attended an award function in Mumbai. During the event, photographers playfully teased her about the IPL and her team of choice.

As videos of the paparazzi’s teasing made their way across social media platforms, Siraj felt compelled to respond.

In an Instagram story posted on March 21, he requested the media to cease speculating about him, stating, “I request paparazzi to stop asking questions around me. It is completely untrue and baseless. I hope this ends,” accompanied by a folded hand emoticon.

Notably, Siraj deleted the post just moments after sharing it, suggesting his desire to move on from the situation.

At the award ceremony, as soon as Mahira made her appearance on the red carpet, photographers eagerly approached her with questions.

One photographer jokingly asked, “Kal se IPL start ho raha hai. Mahira ji kiske side ho aap? Kaunse team ko support kar rahe ho? Aapke favourite team?” (From tomorrow, IPL is starting. Which team are you supporting, Mahira? Which is your favourite team?). The teasing didn’t end there, with another photographer suggesting, “Ma’am aapki favourite team Gujarat. Mahira ji only Gujarat. Kemcho” (Ma’am, your favourite team is Gujarat. Mahira ji, only Gujarat. How are you?). While Mahira refrained from answering, her blushing reaction only fuelled the ongoing rumours.

In response to the situation, Siraj has now firmly shut down the gossip, making it clear that he is not interested in engaging with the speculation. His brief but direct post aimed to put an end to the unnecessary attention surrounding his personal life.
