Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning box office day 4: Tom Cruise's thriller inches closer to Rs 50 crore in India

Tom Cruise’s adrenaline-fueled spectacle, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, continues to dominate the Indian box office, quickly closing in on the Rs 50 crore milestone in just four days. The film, which premiered on May 17 in India across English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions, is outperforming several recent domestic releases, proving once again the enduring appeal of Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

Despite the expected weekday drop, the film maintained a steady pace. After a strong opening weekend—collecting Rs 16.5 crore on Friday and Rs 17 crore on Sunday—the action thriller recorded Rs 5.75 crore on Monday and an additional Rs 5.50 crore on Tuesday. With these figures, the total Indian box office collection now stands at Rs 44.75 crore, as reported by trade analyst Sacnilk.

A closer look at the regional performance reveals that the English version contributed the lion’s share with Rs 27.8 crore, while the Hindi version brought in Rs 13.99 crore. The Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions earned Rs 1.47 crore and Rs 0.92 crore respectively, highlighting the film’s pan-India reach.

Audience occupancy rates remain promising. On Tuesday, English screenings recorded an overall occupancy of 17.94%, peaking at 28.30% during night shows. Hindi screenings showed a 14.50% occupancy, with night shows reaching up to 22.20%. Telugu screenings stood at 12.54%, while Tamil showings witnessed the highest regional engagement at 24.25%.

Globally, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is already a juggernaut, raking in Rs 200 crore worldwide within just four days of release. The film’s performance in India also surpassed Monday collections of several Indian films, including Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs 4.5 crore), Suriya’s Retro (Rs 3.4 crore), and Nani’s HIT: The Third Case (Rs 3.65 crore), though it trailed behind Raid 2 (Rs 7.5 crore) and Thudarum (Rs 7.15 crore).

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the eighth installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise follows Ethan Hunt and his IMF team as they confront a powerful rogue AI known as Entity. Alongside Cruise, the film features a stellar ensemble including Hayley Atwell, Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Henry Czerny.
