Director Anurag Basu, known for his layered storytelling and emotionally resonant cinema, is all set to return with his much-anticipated film Metro... In Dino. The trailer for the film, which dropped recently, has already stirred curiosity among fans and cinephiles alike.
At the trailer launch event, Anurag Basu was asked about K, whether they the team of Metro... In Dino are missing him.
In response, Basu shared a heartfelt sentiment, saying that the film — including its music — is a tribute not only to KK but also to the late actor Irrfan Khan. “The whole film is a tribute to KK, the whole film is a tribute to Irrfan. So we all miss him."
"Because I was talking to Bhushan ji, Pritam ki compositions ko na sabse zyaada KK compliment krta hai, the kind of scale he makes it. So yeah, but the songs are hit, because KK not only Metro, he sang all in my movies, toh obviously I miss him and we are missing him." He added.
Following Life in a... Metro (2007) and Ludo (2020), Metro... In Dino is the final installment in Basu's renowned hyperlink trilogy. Basu is renowned for fusing several stories into a single emotional journey, and his storytelling once again delves into the nuanced aspects of interpersonal relationships. The new movie promises to provide a novel yet recognisable look at life and love in the fast-paced city.

With a stellar ensemble cast that includes Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Ali Fazal, the film was produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series in association with Anurag Basu Productions.
Metro... In Dino is slated for a theatrical release on 4th July 2025.
