Met Gala 2025: Zendaya shines in custom white zoot suit, sans fiance Tom Holland

Zendaya has once again proven her status as a red carpet icon, making a stunning return to the 2025 Met Gala in a bold and tailored ensemble that paid perfect homage to this year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. The event, held on at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, saw the Challengers actress arrive in a head-turning look that celebrated heritage, fashion, and individuality.

Wearing a custom white three-piece Louis Vuitton zoot suit designed by Pharrell Williams, Zendaya embodied the night’s dress code: Tailored for You. Her outfit featured a sharply cut blazer, matching trousers, a vest, wide-brimmed hat, and a slim tie. A sparkling brooch added a luxurious accent beneath her back collar, while her vivid red nails offered a pop of contrast — and subtly drew attention to her new engagement ring from fiancé and Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.

Fans were quick to note the absence of Tom Holland, who has never attended the Met Gala — and for good reason. Holland has long made it clear that he prefers to let Zendaya have the spotlight at her events. In an interview with Men’s Health earlier this year, he explained, “It’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”

Despite rarely walking red carpets together, the couple will soon share screen space again. They are set to co-star in two upcoming projects: The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, both scheduled to begin filming this year. These roles will likely bring them together for promotional tours in 2026 — hinting at more red carpet sightings in the future.

The night marked her seventh Met Gala appearance, and her return builds on a legacy of memorable looks, including her 2019 illuminated Cinderella gown and last year’s dual-outfit comeback after a five-year hiatus.

The 2025 Gala is co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A\$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as honorary chair. This year's theme aligns with the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, inspired by Monica L Miller’s seminal book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. The exhibition explores the evolution and significance of Black dandyism and tailored menswear from the 18th century to today.

The Met Gala’s 2025 host committee boasts an all-star lineup, including Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, Regina King, Doechii, Usher, Spike Lee, and Angel Reese, emphasising the gala’s ongoing commitment to honoring Black excellence in style and culture.
