Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently hosted a private dinner gathering at their Montecito, California, home, which included celebrity couple Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz among their guests. The intimate evening took place amid reported tensions within the Beckham family, particularly between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

According to PEOPLE, the dinner was not a one-on-one occasion, but rather a small, curated gathering that included VIPs and film executives. A source told the outlet, “Brooklyn and Nicola were invited prior to David’s numerous global birthday galas, so the timing is pure coincidence.” The couple reportedly enjoyed their time at the Sussexes' home, with the insider noting, “Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring and generous.”

While neither Meghan nor Harry directly invited the Beckhams as a gesture related to the Beckham family tensions, the event comes at a time of visible absence from Brooklyn and Nicola at recent family milestones.

The couple was notably missing from David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday celebrations, further fueling speculation about ongoing issues. A source close to the family confirmed to PEOPLE that “There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family.” They added, “The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”

Despite the rift, admiration for the Beckhams still surfaces from those who’ve known them. Lexi Wood, who dated Brooklyn briefly in 2018, recently called David and Victoria “the coolest” and “the nicest” while speaking on The Viall Files. “They’re a beautiful family,” she said on the May 7 episode.

Brooklyn also broke his silence on his relationship with his father in an interview with The Sunday Times, conducted in early March but published May 10. Reflecting on their shared interest in automobiles, Brooklyn said, “It’s something that me and my dad bonded over. My dad’s had some pretty cool cars.” He added that his favorite in his own collection is “a 1954 Jaguar, which I very rarely drive, only when the weather’s perfect.”

Interestingly, the dinner at Meghan and Harry’s comes against a backdrop of familial tension within Harry’s own life. During a BBC interview on May 2, Prince Harry revealed that his father, King Charles, is still not speaking to him. Harry candidly shared, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
