Malayalam megastar Mammootty’s PR team has officially dismissed rumours about the actor suffering from cancer, stating that he is in “good health” and is only taking a break from filming due to Ramzan fasting. The clarification came on Sunday, March 16, putting an end to speculations that had been circulating online regarding the veteran actor’s health.
The PR team, in response to the rumours, stated in an interaction with a Mumbai-based publication, “It is fake news. He is on vacation because he is fasting for Ramzan. He is on a break from his shoot schedule as well because of that. In fact, after the break, he will go back to shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s film with Mohanlal.”
This statement reassures fans who were concerned about Mammootty’s health after rumors of a serious illness started spreading. The actor, known for his disciplined lifestyle, often takes breaks from his busy schedule for religious observances, and this time is no different.
Mammootty’s upcoming film with Mohanlal is tentatively titled MMMN. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film also stars Nayanthara in a key role.
In a recent video shared by the production company Anto Joseph Film Company, Nayanthara was warmly welcomed by the MMMN team, further increasing anticipation for the film.
The legendary duo, Mammootty and Mohanlal, have previously worked together on several successful films, including Avidathepole Ivideyum, Adiyozhukkukal, Karimpinpoovinakkare, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Adhwaytham, Vishnulokam, and No.20 Madras Mail.
Meanwhile, Mammootty and Nayanthara have also shared screen space in films such as Rapakal, Thaskara Veeran, Bhaskar the Rascal, and Puthiya Niyamam.
