Malayalam actress Maala Parvathi seeks action over offensive comments on her YouTube interview

Malayalam actress Maala Parvathi filed a police complaint on Wednesday against an individual accused of making offensive remarks about her on social media. She also raised concerns about a YouTube channel that allegedly created a video using still images from her films without her consent.

Following her complaint, the cyber police registered a case against the accused last month under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. Authorities are currently working to gather information and details from the YouTube channel involved in the incident, according to sources.

Maala Parvathi stated that she had already deposed before the magistrate and given her statement. "After receiving the order from the court, it will be sent to YouTube seeking the accused’s details. The case will stand only if they hand over the accused’s details officially," she said.

Maala Parvathi revealed that she had directly responded to the individual who posted offensive remarks about her on social media, notifying him that she had lodged a police complaint. In her formal complaint, she also urged authorities to take action against a YouTube channel that had used still photographs from her films without authorization to create a video.

This incident coincides with another significant case involving actress Honey Rose, who filed a sexual harassment complaint against well-known businessman Boby Chemmanur. Following her complaint, Chemmanur was taken into police custody in Wayanad on Wednesday.
