Malavika Mohanan reveals she was almost cast for ‘Salaar: Part 1’ with Prabhas before working together in ‘The Raja Saab’

Malavika Mohanan makes Telugu film debut with Prabhas

Actress Malavika Mohanan will soon make her Telugu film debut after her successful run in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi film industry. She is set to star opposite Prabhas in Maruthi's directorial The Raja Saab. However, the actress recently revealed that she had another opportunity with Prabhas earlier.

In a recent interview with India Today, Malavika said that she and Prabhas were supposed to work on another project earlier, but things didn’t work out as planned.

When asked if she had ever been approached for another film, Malavika responded that she was supposed to star in Prashanth Neel’s Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire.

She told the outlet, “There were conversations that happened for Salaar (2023). Discussions took place, but they didn’t really end up going anywhere eventually. And I was disappointed because it’s not every day that such conversations even come your way. And then, funnily enough, The Raja Saab came to me a few months later.”

Malavika also discussed her debut in The Raja Saab and teased her character. She revealed that she has some “really good scenes,” and her character can be seen throughout the film. She added, “Everything just seemed to fall into place in the right way, and I always wanted to work with Prabhas. I am the biggest Baahubali fan.”

Malavika Mohanan is also scheduled to star in the Tamil film Sardar 2. The actress was last seen in Yudhra but the film didn’t receive a great response as expected. The film collected ₹4.52 crore on its opening day in India and ₹11.31 crore worldwide. The actress made her debut with the Malayalam film Pattam Pole in 2013. However, Malavika gained recognition for her performance in 2017 Beyond the Clouds.

On the other hand, Prabhas has a series of projects lineup including Fauji. He is also expected to play a cameo in Kannappa.
