Bollywood actress Kajol is gearing up for a power-packed return to the big screen with her upcoming mythological horror film Maa, directed by Vishal Furia. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, Gopal Singh, Surjyasikha Das, Yaaneea Bharadwaj, Roopkatha Chakraborty, and Kherin Sharma.
Ahead of its theatrical release, Kajol has unveiled the first poster of the film—leaving fans excited and intrigued.
On Sunday, Kajol took to Instagram to share a chilling new poster along with a cryptic caption that read, “Fear begins tomorrow. Stay tuned! #Maa.”
The image shows her in an intense face-off with a monstrous figure, highlighting the film’s dark and mysterious tone. The poster also carried the eerie tagline “Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA.” and teased fans with “From the world of Shaitaan,” suggesting a shared cinematic universe or thematic continuation from her recent hit Shaitaan.
The haunting background score of the Shaitaan theme playing alongside the post added to the anticipation. Within minutes, fans flooded the comments section. One user asked, “Shaitaan 2?” while others dropped fire emojis and exclamations like “BRING IT ON” and “Can’t wait!”
In Maa, Kajol portrays a fierce mother who finds herself in a supernatural battle to protect her child. This is not your regular emotional mother role—Kajol calls it her “strongest role ever,” and the poster confirms that this is going to be a battle between divine power and evil darkness.
Backed by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak, the film is presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films. The story and screenplay have been penned by Saiwyn Quadras, known for films with strong emotional cores and real-world intensity.

Set to hit theatres on June 27, Maa will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali, making it a pan-India event film. With horror, mythology, and a mother’s unyielding spirit at its center, Maa is shaping up to be one of the most unique offerings in Kajol’s filmography.
Apart from Maa, Kajol is also starring in Sarzameen alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Maharagni – Queen of Queens with Prabhu Deva, Naseeruddin Shah, and Jisshu Sengupta.
