Los Angeles hit with 3.9-Magnitude earthquake during Oscars 2025 after parties

Hollywood celebrities wrapped up the 97th Academy Awards when Los Angeles was hit by a 3.9-magnitude earthquake. The quake hit the North Hollywood area at approximately 10.13 pm local time.

According to the US Geological Survey, light shaking was felt in nearby areas, including Burbank, Inglewood, and Pasadena.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Fire Department shared on social media that the epicenter was about one mile east-southeast of North Hollywood, but the department did not activate earthquake mode.

The earthquake occurred near Universal City and Burbank and its impact was felt as far as 10 miles away from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where the Oscars ceremony took place on Sunday night. Although the 2025 Oscars ceremony had already concluded, the Hollywood celebrities were enjoying the after party.

After the show, attendees and winners headed to the exclusive Vanity Fair Oscars party at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.

The 2025 Oscars witnessed several milestone moments, including Conan O'Brien making his hosting debut. Meanwhile, Anora bagged the evening's top honors, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison's first Oscar win.
