Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio, celebrated for his award-winning performances and passionate environmental advocacy, has taken significant action to aid Los Angeles during its ongoing wildfire crisis. In a heartfelt Instagram Story, the Oscar-winning actor announced his commitment to the cause.

“The wildfires devastating Los Angeles demand urgent attention. I’m pledging $1 million in collaboration with Re:wild’s Rapid Response Program to address immediate relief needs and support post-fire recovery,” he wrote.

DiCaprio's donation will fund emergency aid, ecological restoration, and long-term recovery efforts, reflecting his dedication to environmental and humanitarian causes.

DiCaprio shared that the funds will support several crucial organizations, including the LA Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, California Community Foundation, Pasadena Humane Society, and the SoCal Fire Fund. These groups are actively providing aid to firefighters, first responders, displaced communities, and animals affected by the wildfires, ensuring comprehensive support during this crisis.

He also urged his followers to take action by sharing links to the organizations and encouraging donations. Having grown up in Southern California, this cause holds deep personal significance for the actor.

DiCaprio isn't the only one stepping up to help. Both corporate giants and celebrities have joined the cause. On Wednesday, Google and YouTube pledged a combined $15 million to support local relief efforts.

Meta, led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, donated $4 million, including $2 million in funds and an additional $2 million in advertising credits to boost relief messages on Facebook and Instagram, according to reports from Variety.

YouTube is also taking creative action to support the recovery, with plans to provide production facilities for affected creators and artists once its LA offices are safe to reopen. CEO Neal Mohan revealed that the platform will host events in the upcoming months to help rebuild the YouTube creative community and encourage collaboration during the recovery process.

In addition to individual donations, major entertainment giants like Disney, Paramount, Comcast, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Discovery have all reportedly made significant contributions to support the fire relief efforts.

The wildfires have caused immense destruction across Los Angeles and neighboring areas, leaving many, including Hollywood celebrities, coping with heartbreaking losses. Stars like Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, and Leighton Meester have shared their personal struggles. Brody and Meester's $6.5 million Malibu home was lost in the fires, while other celebrities, including Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, Adam Sandler, and Steven Spielberg, were forced to evacuate their homes amidst the chaos.

As the wildfires rage on, relief efforts are intensifying, with numerous organisations and volunteers working around the clock to offer aid and assistance to the affected communities.
