L2: Empuraan advance booking collections: Mohanlal starrer sets a new record with 645K ticket sales in 24 hours

Mohanlal celebrates the early success of L2 Empuraan

Superstar Mohanlal starrer action thriller L2: Empuraan is the highly anticipated film of 2025. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the film to hit the theatres. The film is expected to break all the past records of Malayalam films that can be witnessed with the advance booking records.

L2: Empuraan will be released in theatres on March 27. The advance booking has already started in India and worldwide. However, pre-sales have created a buzz among the audience with sales breaking all the records.

According to Sacnilk, L2: Empuraan’s tickets worth over 10 crore have been sold for the first day in India, and sales are close to 30 crore worldwide.

However, Mohanlal has recently celebrated the milestone success of his upcoming film. He took to his Instagram and wrote, “This deal is with the DEVIL. 645K+ tickets in 24 hours.”

The actor continued “#L2E #Empuraan is rewriting the rules of Indian cinema. March 27th. Malayalam | Tamil | Hindi | Kannada | Telugu.”

Empuraan has now set a record as the biggest Malayalam movie opening ever worldwide, and this is just from ticket pre-sales alone. Previously, Mohanlal's Marakkar held the record for the biggest Mollywood opening with over 20 crores.

However, Empuraan has already surpassed that by 10 crores, and it still has 5 days to go before release. The ticket booking trend suggests that Empuraan may open with over 50 crores worldwide.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, L2: Empuraan is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. The film features an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Nyla Usha, Nandhu, Shivaji Guruvayoor, and Sshivada among others in the key roles.

The film also features international stars like Jerome Flynn, Andrea Tivadar, and Eriq Ebouaney. The film is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies and is slated to release on March 27 in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil languages.
